How do you create custom colors in parts/assemblies?

Solution

You need to create custom Face Styles. Open the Styles dialog and at the top left, select Faces Styles from the list. You will then see a list of colors supplied by Solid Edge. Select a color which is close and choose the New button at the top right. Give it a name and then go to the Faces tab. You will see two sets of slider bars with indicators as to the current setting for each. You can choose to work with Red, Green, Blue content or Hue, Saturation, Intensity, whichever is more comfortable. Make the changes to the desired color and watch the sphere on the top right to see how the color changes. Once the desired color is achieved, simply save it and you are ready to use it.

We recommend doing this in a template file. If you created the color in a working file, you can use the Style Organizer button at the bottom left of the original Style dialog to copy the color(s) from one file to another. Just set the file names appropriately at the top of the dialog. Then select the color from whichever column applies to your active file and use the Copy button in the middle to copy to the other side.
