A Technical Publication Illustration Parts Table of an Assembly added to an illustration is dark and entries cannot read.

Solution

The Illustration "Part Table" Markup acts differently than a table on a page.

In the above case the text and fill colors are both dark gray. The table markup acts the same as other markups and uses the last set colors. As seen in the example the last colors used were dark grey.

To change the Parts Table of the example you need go to the Illustrate ribbon:
  •  Make sure that the Illustration is selected to edit
=> use "Edit" from the ribbon or do a right click in the Illustration > choose Edit Illustration
  •  Select "Select Markup"

  • Click on the Part Table to select it
  • Use the "Fill" color pull down to change the fill color to "No Fill" (or a color of your choice)
  • Use the "Text" color pull down to change the text color to your preferred color
  • Use the "Line" color pull down to change the color of the lines on the table.

Possible result:

The color can be set after selecting Parts Table command and before placing the table or, as written above, afterwards.
You can however copy and paste a parts table markup between illustrations within a document.  This will retain the colors for the table.

A note related to the Font size:
With the Part Table markup, the font size for each row is determined by the overall size of the part table.
