Solid Edge How to automate Mass as an exposed variable on my assembly template

Following on from this, is it possible to automatically expose the Mass?

Solution

Yes, it is possible to add the exposed variable to the .asm template so you do not need to set this to exposed every time:

• Export the named reference of the managed assembly template.
• Open the assembly template in native Solid Edge.
• Add a Solid Edge part.
• Update Physical properties -> now the assembly mass is updated.
• Open variable table.
• Expose the Mass variable.
• Save the template.
• Delete the Solid Edge part.
• Save the template again.
• Upload the assembly template to the named reference in Teamcenter.
  
  

The next time you use this template and add a Solid Edge part, then update physical properties, the Mass will be exposed.
