The Microsoft March 9, 2021 Update, also known as KB5000802, introduced print-related issues in Solid Edge. A quick Google search for KB5000802 will provide an indication of how disruptive the KB5000802 Windows 10 update has been. If non-enterprise customers do not have the Windows 10 automatic update delay set, the KB5000802 update has most likely downloaded and installed automatically on your machines.
Thus far the impact to Solid Edge has been limited to missing data when creating PDF files, primarily loss of shaded views. There have been multiple reports from customers running Solid Edge ST10, Solid Edge 2019, and Solid Edge 2021. So, it would appear that any version of Solid Edge could be subject to printing problems as a result of the Windows 10 KB5000802 update.
Based on the increasing level of negative chatter being posted on the various Windows 10 forums, hopefully, Microsoft will address the issue very soon. For now, the only way to
resolve the print-related issues in Solid Edge is to
uninstall the
KB5000802 update.
