Summary

Details

In Simcenter 3D Specialist Durability, the static safety factor is calculated by comparing the max stress with the tensile strength and the min stress with the negative compressive stress.

An issue was detected in the strain-life analysis, where the role of the tensile and the compressive strength have been interchanged when calculating the static safety factor. So in the case both values are different the static safety factor is wrong

As a workaround to  calculate the correct static fatigue safety factor, one can exchange the values of compressive and tensile strength in the material data. Be aware that this can have influence on the damage evaluation as well

Problems are solved in Simcenter 3D 2021.1-1969.
