Solid Edge FOA occurrence quantity mismatch in Teamcenter Structure Manager

When using pattern feature, in Solid Edge assembly, the quantity of the part occurrences mismatches to the quantity in Teamcenter. 

Example below:


Using Part S000001/A00 am pattern is created in Solid Edge assembly:

There are 10 occurrences in total of this part:

The quantity in Solid Edge of the part in question is 10, but in the Teamcenter Structure Manager it is 24:

Why the quantity is not in sync? The following preference has been set:


SEEC_BOM_Synchronize =TRUE

Solution

The example assembly is a FOA and that is why you see a overcomplete (150%) BOM in the Teamcenter Structure Manager. Teamcenter Structure Manager does not understand the Solid Edge FOA structure so you will see all components of every member here.


There are two solutions to get a correct BOM view in Teamcenter:


1 - Save member as


You  can save a FOA member to a new Item  (Save Member As). This Item will have its own correct BOM view structure but will not be a FOA anymore.






2- Publish members


This functionality is introduced in Solid Edge 2019 and this will create a new Item ID for every FOA member. Functionality of the FOA is exactly the same but every member will get their own Item ID and BOM view.


How to publish?


1) With SEEC open the FOA master
2) Edit Table
3) Select all members -> Publish
4) This will create an Item ID for all members

In Solid Edge you can select the FOA member ; and the structure will change to the assigned Item ID

The Teamcenter Structure Manager will have a correct BOM view for this Item ID
