There is a difference in the behavior on where the Copy operation is performed.

Solution

When doing copy/paste from the PMI node in the part navigator, you are creating a new PMI object. Note that there is a new entry under PMI.


When you pick from the screen (or from the PMI display instances listed within the model views in the navigator), you are making a new instance of the same PMI. As an instance of the same PMI, the changes in one instance will be displayed in any others.
