NX Problems starting NX/MCD/SC 3D with a Dongle license

Software does not start with Node-locked license and a dongle.

The Error:

License Error: Invalid host. The hostid of this system does not match the hostid specified in the license file. [ -9 ]

NX/MCD/SC 3D does not start. 

Solution

When you receive this error, the most likely cause is that the Dongle drivers are not installed correctly.

You can download the sentinel drivers from support center: https://support.sw.siemens.com/en-US/product/286073425/download/PL20191210095924816

Advised steps for installing this: 

• Download the sentinel driver from our site. 
• Unzip the executable first. 
• Make sure you UNplugged the dongle first. 
• Right click the installer --> Run as Administrator 
• After finishing the install --> Reboot 
• Plug in the Dongle. 
• Start NX/MCD/SC 3D. 

This way it should work. The light on the dongle should stay on!

How to check if the dongle is recognized. It should show up in your device manager under "Universal Serial Bus-controllers" --> Safenet USB SuperPro/UltraPro

Second way to do this, is open a command prompt and run the following command:

"%UGII_BASE_DIR%\UGFlexlm\getcid.exe" -hardwarekeys

When the Dongle is functioning correct, it should return the dongle number of the plugged in dongle:

 UG_HWKEY_ID=#####

If it returns the following, something is wrong and the driver is not recognized.

NX Hardware Key (Sentinel) Value(s):

There is no Siemens PLM Software Licensing NX Hardware Key (Sentinel) for this host "***************" .

Please try again to run the installation, and possibly try the remove option of the installer first. Reboot, and try the installation steps again.
