A user locates some questionable Pattern components that are visible in the active window of an opened assembly document, but which are not assigned to an equivalent component in the structure of the PathFinder. Components like these are often called ghost parts.

- Exit Solid Edge.
- Run Registry Editor.
- Open Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version 221\DEBUG
- Choose Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Enter Value name: ALLOW_PATTERN_FIXUP
- Select the new value > Right-Click > Modify...
- Enter Value data: 1
- Choose OK.
- Minimize Registry Editor.
- Start Solid Edge.
- Open the assembly document with the ghost parts issue.
- Notice that the ghost parts are now not visible anymore in the active window.
- Save the assembly document (if the ghost parts are still visible do not save the file).
