Summary

Details

User has a conical part to which they are adding a Normal cutout using the "Thickness Cut" option .  This results in a incorrect cutout.

Solution

This has been a known issue because of the nature of the Normal Cut.  It tries to maintain the resulting cut faces to be normal to the layer faces.  If the target body is not perpendicular to the profile sweep direction - as is the case with the conical geometry of this example - such "notches" and "steps" will result.

Consequently, we introduced the other two options, "Mid-Plane Cut" and "Nearest Face-Cut" to address this limitation.  These two options will not result in notches and will maintain perpendicularity of cut faces to their respective layer faces.
