Summary

Details

Unable to select all entities imported into NX via an AutoCAD DWG file.

Solution

This issue can occur when the imported geometry is relatively large and does not fit into the default 'Object Bounding Box Maximum Size', which is 265,000 millimeters (10433 Inches).

To change this behavior, increase the value of the 'Object Bounding Box Maximum Size' default in NX, via 'File - Utilities - Customer Defaults - Gateway - Visualization - View - Interaction'. The maximum value is 1,000,000:

(Note: In NX versions prior to NX 1899 Series, this default was named 'Maximum Size for an Object's Bounding Box' and was located in 'File - Utilities - Customer Defaults - Gateway - Visualization - View/Screen'.)

After making this change, restart NX and open/import the data again.

An alternative method is to set the environment variable 'UGII_MAX_FIT_BOX_SIZE' to the required value, in millimeters.

In some cases, it may be necessary to delete very large entities, move the geometry closer to the 0,0,0 point and position it in the positive X and Y quadrant in AutoCAD. Then export the geometry from AutoCAD and import it in to NX.
