You attempt to connect a device using MQTT to IoT Extension using your Insights Hub credentials and your Insights Hub credentials are rejected. 

Solution

IoT Extension uses single sign on to authenticate Insights Hub users in the application. IoT Extension doesn't know your Insights Hub password. Therefore, your Insights Hub credentials can't be used to connect a device using MQTT to IoT Extensions.

Use the administration console of the IoT Extension application to create a new user with a password. This user should be one that is NOT created in Insights Hub. Use this user to create devices in IoT Extension and to communicate to it. This also allows users to still be able to access IoT Extension if the device account is locked due to too many invalid login attempts.
