Details
Normally starting NX on a laptop works just fine, but as soon as the Laptop is plugged in into a Dell Docking (in this case a D3100), NX crashes on Start-up. So unable to start NX.
The error message that pops-up is:
NX Initialization Error
General Fault Exception
The Error in the syslog will show something like this:
The issue is somehow Graphics Card related. Most likely because the docking does not properly support the high performance graphics card, but uses the low performance onboard Graphics card.
There are a few ways to see if you can get this resolved.
Most likely one to solve it is: It was solved by Disabling "Switchable Graphics" in the BIOS. After this all worked fine again.
Downside of this option is that the Nvidia graphics card is used for everything and no longer uses the onboard graphics card. Which may be bad for general laptop performance, battery usage and heating of the laptop.
Possible other suggestions to try to solve this:
Replace the docking/hub by a different model.
Start the software without being connected to the docking and reattach the docking after starting NX.
Update your graphics drivers, for both Nvidia as well as you Intel UHD onboard graphics.
Update the drivers for the (usb) docking
Update the Display link drivers (see below for details)
Either set the right graphics card in the Nvidia control panel for NX (ugraf.exe)
Or set the right graphics card in Windows display settings (right click your desktop --> Display settings --> Graphics settings and add NX here:

About the DisplayLink drivers:

According to the release notes it's solving quite some display issues for dockings in general.
