NX System Administration

Summary

Details

On a Dell Precision 7730 having a NVIDIA Quadro P3200 installed, NX fails to start with the error message:

Unable to create OpenGL rendering context

This problem happens when the end-user has accessed his computer by a Remote Desktop Connection. Launching NX on a local session everything works well.

The problem has started after applying the last Windows update 20H2.

Solution

In Local Computer Policy --> Computer Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> All Settings the parameter "Use WDDN graphics display driver for Remote Desktop Connection" was disabled.

After enabling this parameter NX started fine on that computer by using the Remote Desktop Connection.
