Solid Edge Frame parts with different angle cut orientations appear as same item in Parts List

In this example the user has a frame assembly where two unique frame components are counted as having the same quantity in the Parts List.

In the image below you can see that Item 2 in the Parts List is considered to be two occurrences of the same part, yet the orientation of one the cut angles makes them unique parts.




Solution

The frames have the same length and cut angle but one of the cut angles has a different orientation - historically in Solid Edge we have not supported frame uniqueness based on different cut angle orientation.

However, we added support for this in Solid Edge 2021 in order to improve the Frames end angle reporting feature.  After setting the use angle direction option for frame uniqueness in Parts List properties it will be possible to see the correct number of frames.

From Part Lists Properties panel -> Options turn on "End angle" and "Use angle direction".


Updating the Parts List the result is now correct:
