Solid Edge Easily stopping and starting the FlexLM License Manager

Anyone who regularly uses the FlexLM License manager for our products may have experienced issues with LMTOOLS.EXE, such as when starting or stopping the Server.  For example, you may get the message shown below which is not that self-explanatory. 

In this case the Process was already killed.

Another option to start/stop is to go to Taskmanager > Services and search for "Siemens License Server", which is the default name for the Service, select with the right mouse button and start or stop the Service, which might also be cumbersome.

However, there is an easier way to Start/Stop the service.

To start the FlexLM Server, simply open Notepad and enter the following line and save the file as a .bat file

e.g. start_License_server.bat

To stop the FlexLM Server create a similar file  - stop_License_server.bat

When you the click with the right mouse button on that file in File Manager and select "Run as Admin"

then the Service will immediately be started or stopped.

If you then place a Shortcut from those bat files onto your desktop and with Right Mouse Button, edit the Properties of the Shortcut and on the Shortcut Tab click on the "Advanced" Button, and select the option "Run As Administrator", then a simple double-click on the shortcut will immediately start or stop the FlexLM License Manager.
