Summary

Details

A Library Tool is added to a CAM Operation. The tool is modeled and is an assembly. When Verify is run the tool is not displayed but the material removal is. This can be seen in the picture below. Notice that the IPW shows the threads being cut but the Tool Display is missing. What could be causing this tool display issue?

Running Verify using the parameter based tool does display the tool but the material removal is not correct.

Solution

There are several different reasons why the display of the tool or the IPW could be omitted when running Verify. In this particular case all of the assembly components in the Library Tool were placed on a layer that was invisible in the CAM Assembly. To determine if this is the case turn on the display of all layers before running Verify. To prevent this from happening again it is suggested that all Library Tool Components be placed on Layer 1. Two other Solution Center articles have been created giving other reasons why this IPW and Tool display might be missing. These are listed below.
