Details

The Customer Defaults Sheet Metal Material Standards for Teamcenter mode of NX (Sheet Metal > General > Part Properties > Material Standards tab), can have different behaviors depending on three input values.


The goal of these three values in Customer Defaults is to pinpoint a specific Text dataset containing the material table txt file.


There are various different cases/results based on inputs for these three values: 


  •  Item ID 
  •  Item Revision 
  •  Dataset Name



Solution

CASE#1:
This is when all three fields filled correctly to match that desired Text dataset 
Sheet Metal Preferences Parameter Entry is usable and values are based on that Customer Defaults defined Text dataset 
NX syslog will show this trace back: 
Sheet Metal Material Standards : Loading Team Center dataset <defined Item ID>::<defined Item Revision>::<defined Dataset Name>


CASE#2:
This is when all three fields in Customer Defaults are empty 
Sheet Metal Preferences Parameter Entry is usable, and it uses value defined by the Native NX material table defined in Native NX area of Customer Defaults. 
NX syslog will show this trace back: 
Sheet Metal Material Standards : Team Center dataset was found to be empty in Customer Defaults. Attempting to load the native NX file.


CASE#3:
This is when any one of three fields contain an incorrect value, causing that Text dataset to not be found 
Sheet Metal Preferences Parameter Entry is unusable (grey out) 
NX syslog will show this trace back: 
+++ Sheet Metal Material Standards : Dataset <defined Item ID>::<defined Item Revision>::<defined Dataset Name> not found in Team Center.
