Why is there a list of disallowed sizes in the Standard Parts user interface?

In this article I want to clarify the meaning of disallowed sizes of Standard Parts in Solid Edge.

I use hexagon head screws from ISO 4017 as an example.

Solution

These screws exist from thread size M 1,6 to M 64 and length 2 to 500.  You can imagine that not all nominal thread sizes are available in all nominal lengths, e.g. M2 x 100 is not an allowed size and is displayed as such in the PartFinder.

If you switch the view to 'Standard Parts list' you will see a list of available sizes only.  In addition, you can sort the sizes by clicking on the column header.  In the picture below I first selected thread size M2, changed to view style 'Standard Parts list' and sorted the column 'Nominal Length' by clicking on the header.
Hopefully this explains the disallowed sizes in the Standard Parts PartFinder.
