APPLICATION
Summary
Details
A user wanted to create an external Standard Parts database that would be reachable for all users in the network. Therefore they installed the Standard Parts Administrator and then started the Standard Parts configuration wizard. They clicked on 'Browse' to reach the Database Manager where they selected to create a new external network database.
They defined the server name, user name, and password but always ended up with the message 'Cannot connect to database server with specified login information. Server is probably down or login information is incorrect!'
Solution
It turned out that the user defined the server name with two backslashes upfront which is wrong. The 'Select server' input field must be filled with the single server name.
