How to enter Chinese characters on NX drawing running in an English language environment?

Solution

Prior to accomplishing the task, you must ensure that the following Customer Default is set on your system in order to see the NX fonts. If it is not set, you must restart NX after setting it.

Drafting-> General/Setup-> Miscellaneous-> Fonts to Use-> Standard and NX Fonts

First select the note and set the desired Chinese font under Note Settings. In the example below we chose the NX Font "chinese_fs"

Next enter the English characters to generate an English note if you cannot read Chinese.

Enter Simplified Chinese and I get simplified Chinese out. In this example I used an on-line English-> Chinese converter to get the output in Chinese
