If you have a big JT file, opening it in NX could seem like NX hangs. But it just takes a longer time to convert JT data to exact data.
Solution
If your customer default : Gateway --> JT Files --> Extract Exact Data --> Initial Extract Exact Data is set to either: All JT Files or All JT Files Except Files with JT B-rep, then NX would take longer to extract exact data.
You can speed up the performance if you set the customer default to None as below: With this option, only Facet Data is brought into NX, no Exact Data.
Note: After opening the data in NX, if you attempt to use "Show Exact" in ANT, NX would have the same behavior.
In NX1926, you no longer need to set the customer default, instead you can just set Load Options in NX. Either Partially Load or Fully Load would load Exact data.
