Summary

Details

If you modified the holes database (eg. ...\Preferences\Holes\GOST Metric.xlsx) and newly added holes are not listed inside Solid Edge hole placement, it is possible that you inadvertently added syntactical errors, duplicated diameters, or made other such errors which are hard to find.

Solution

Solid Edge offers a tool to find such errors. It is the Hole Database Validation Tool in the Solid Edge Program folder. You execute it with a double-click on HolesDatabaseValidationTool.exe.

Here you add one or more holes databases, click debug and then view the report.

Here is an example of an output from running the tool:

Holes database debug report -
This report lists down all the errors found the holes database and the respective cell number which has the invalid value. You use the cell number to locate the cell in the Excel database.
