NX for Manufacturing
Summary
Details
A tool was imported into a CAM program from the Tool Library. This tool has a solid model associated with it. When Tool Path Animation is run the tool is not displayed but the material removal is. Further, the tool is not displayed when it is edited. What happened to the tool display? The picture below was taken during Animation. There is no tool displayed but material removal is shown.
Solution
If the entire CAM assembly has been hidden than the tool, which is a component, will be hidden as well. This could be true even though some components are displayed. To check for this open the Assembly Navigator (ANT) and look to see if the top node of the CAM assembly has a gray check mark in front of it. This can be see in the picture below. This mark indicates that the entire assembly has been hidden. The reason some components might be displayed is because they have been manually turned back on. This can also be seen below.
To correct this Show the top level CAM assembly in the ANT by clicking the gray check mark. The check mark will be displayed as red when done.
Now when Verify is run or the tool edited the tool assembly will be visible.
