Summary

Details

A program is selected from the Program Order View and posted. Multiple operations, one after the other, use the same tool. The first operation outputs the tool change and, as expected, the subsequent operations do not. Normally suppressing the duplicate tool change is correct. Under some circumstances the programmer needs to be able to output the tool change at the beginning of every operation, though. How can this be done?

Notice in the sample below that three operations all use the same tool.

When posted only the first operation has a tool change.

Solution

In Post Builder add a Tool Number and a Tool Change command to the Machine Control -> Load Tool event. Be sure to Force both words.

In NX add the Tool Change Marker to the Start Events for every Operation that requires the Tool Change and check "On" the Output Load Tool option.

Notice now that when posted all of the Operations have a tool change.
