Can you explain why you can't use smart dimension in draft (2D model) view, when it is possible in part?
Steps
1. Open draft and open 2D model view.
2. Place a 20mm circle and then a second directly below it.
3. Place a smart dimension between the 2 circles and change the dimension value to 100mm.
4. you then get the following message
"The dimension could not be changed. The requested value conflicts with existing relationships".
This same process works fine in part (Sync). It also works in draft if you use a distance between dimension.
Also, Why is it that if you put a lock on one of the circles, it still moves after adjusting the dimension size?
Solution
Please check if the 'The Auto-Scale Sketch' command is enabled/ disabled from Sketching Tools > Draw menu.
User need to deactivate this command.
The 'Auto-Scale Sketch' is on by default in new files. Like the Maintain Relationships and Relationship Handles options, you can turn it off and on at any time while you sketch. You can set this preference separately for draft and for modeling environments.
Please refer to Solid Edge Help for more information about 'Auto-Scale Sketch' command.
