How can you exclude a component and change item numbers in a parts list?

Solution

To exclude a component from the parts list:
- In the Assembly Navigator MB3 on the related component which should be excluded from the Parts List
 -> Properties -> "Attributes" Tab

- Under Category "DB Component Instance" you will find the attribute "PLIST_IGNORE_MEMBER"

- set Value to 1

-> Component will be excluded from the Parts List

To change the item numbering scheme:

You can do this by changing Default Text of the column to $~C
Select PC NO column->MB3->Style->Columns
Change Default Text to $~C from <W$=@CALLOUT>

Note: If $~C is used for the callout column, then callout numbers generated
from the parts list are not mapped to the Callout attribute on the components
of the assembly, and therefore are not synchronized with the corresponding
Teamcenter attributes. In addition, you cannot create annotations referencing
the parts list callout number.
