When using 'Export Assembly Outside Teamcenter', what does the Default Export Action, 'Exclude' do?

Solution

Most of the time, the Default Export Action is set to 'Overwrite' or 'Use Existing'. Then the Exceptions dialog is set to 'Exclude' certain components. This is because if the Default Export Action is set to 'Exclude', nothing will export. The entire assembly will be excluded from the export operation.
'Exclude' would be used as the Default Export Action when most components will not be exported and only a few components are selected for export. That way, 'Exclude' is the default. Then 'Exceptions' can be used to select the few components needed to use 'Overwrite' or 'Use Existing'. But know that any components selected to export with 'Overwrite' or 'Use Existing' will automatically change the parent assembly to the same setting so its parent assembly also exports.

NOTE: The 'Excluded' components will still be in the structure of the assembly, but will not export a .prt file.
When the assembly is opened in Native NX, the excluded parts will still be in the hierarchy, but no .prt file will be found to load that part.
