File association registries "NXTCXML File" folder are removed when previous NX release is uninstalled.
Duplicating steps:
(1) On a machine with no NX installed and no "NXTCXML File" registry.
(2) Installed NX12.0.2MP8, now there exists "NXTCXML File" registry. The command shows \NX12\ contained in its path.
(3) Next install NX1888. The "NXTCXML File" registry still exists. The command shows \NX1888\ contained in its path.
(4) Uninstall NX12.0.2MP8 using Add or Remove Program
Once NX12.0.2MP8 is uninstalled, now the registry shows "NXTCXML File" folder is missing.
Solution
Run Repair install on NX1888 to recreate the registry entries.
Optional (faster) repair command (without UI) is to run:
msiexec /fms <ProductCodeGUID>
