The site just got a right angle head attachment for their head-table 5-axis mill. How to program with this device in NX CAM, particularly for drilling operations?
Solution
There should be no post or programming changes needed to specifically accommodate this device. The post is set up to do all the vector math needed already. Define the right angle head orientation with the main head rotary at its 0 degree (or neutral) position, and then program the holes as usual. The post should incorporate the right angle head IJK vector adjustment in its calculations and give you the proper machine rotary solution in the code to reach the hole axis.
