Details

In a shaded break-out section view in drafting, the cut faces of the section cut have the same consistent color through all components of an assembly.

Would like each cut face of each component to maintain the color its component. In NX versions prior to NX1899-series there use to be a "Deselect All Colors" button in the Shaded Cut Face color menu.

How to perform a deselect all colors, so the cut face gets the component color?

Solution

To do deselect all colors for an existing shaded break-out section view,
- Select the view boundary, right mouse button --> Settings.
- Common --> Shading
- Select the color box for Shaded Cut Face Color
- Hold <Ctrl>-key on your keyboard in the Object Color menu, Palette group, click on the color currently selected.

- Press OK in the Object Color menu
- Press Apply or OK in the Settings menu.
Now the cut face color is the same as the individual component color.

To set this as a default setting, open NX customer defaults and go to Drafting Standard
View --> Common, Shading tab, change Shaded Cut Face Color from "Set" to "Original"

This setting is a Part setting. In main customer default menu, Drafting --> General/Setup, Workflow tab, set Settings Origination: Drafting Standard. (Or edit your drawing template as described above).
