Summary
Details
In Teamcenter, we create an Item with an associated Solid Edge dataset. The dataset name is the same, including the revision letter. When revising the item from within Teamcenter, the dataset is copied and its name should include the new revision letter - however it does not.
When revising from Solid Edge, the dataset name includes the new revision letter.
Steps to Duplicate:
In Teamcenter, create a item and item revision (A) with an associated Solid Edge dataset. Verify that the dataset has the same name as the item revision (e.g. 00221-A).
Release the item revision and dataset.
From the rich client, revise the item revision (from A to B).
Verify that the dataset associated to the new item revision has the same name as the initial dataset (00221-A).
Solution
Check the DATASET_saveas_pattern; the value of this preference should match exactly the dataset pattern. Default value is ${User text} ; in this case we modify the value to ${ItemID}/${RevisionID}
Note: the value should match exactly the dataset pattern
In addition we modify the default deep copy rule from Copy as reference to Copy as Object.
In the BMIDE change the Deep Copy rule for the revise from CopyAsReference to CopyAsObject to change the default behaviour.
Now the Revise in the RAC behaves correctly:
In the RAC:
Select ItemRevision with SE dataset -> Revise Next
