Solid Edge Save as Translated warning for Family of Parts files

Workflow:
 

•  User opens a Solid Edge draft in SEEC that is created from a Family of Parts member
•  Save as Translated
•  The following message appears

 
 
  
 
Since the user wants to create a DXF of the single draft the message is not relevant to their task.

Solution

This is a known issue and fixed in Solid Edge 2021.

There is a workaround for this issue: do not load the linked 3D parts to your SEEC cache

Steps to perform:

•   Start with an empty SEEC cache
•   File Open
•   Check "Open options" - verify that the Download options are off
   
   
• Set Load Option to "Inactive drawing views for review"

 
 
 

• Open the draft

If you check the SEEC cache only the draft is now in the cache
 
 

Save as Translated will now open the dialogue:



A second workaround is  to delete the linked 3D files from cache before the Save a Translated action.
