Teamcenter Visualization When opening a JT file from NX in Teamcenter Visualization the initial view is not the expected one.

In the past, (prior to NX 1872-series), a JT file generated by NX always opens in Teamcenter Visualization, TcVis, showing the view called "Top" in NX.


Now, in NX 1872-series, the view being the Work View in NX when File -> Export -> JT  translation is processed, is the view shown when the JT file is opened in TcVis.


Is there a way to get back the pre-NX 1872-series behavior?

Solution

Starting with NX 1872, NX to JT export files contain information about NX Work View in part, assembly, which is marked as "Default View" in JT. Making JT default model view the same as NX default model view.

Starting with Teamcenter Visualization 11.5 by default displays the "Default View" upon loading the JT.
There is a PMI Preference (Manufacturing tab, PMI Preference, Global Settings tab) in TcVis "Show default model view during file open", which you can disable and get the same initial visual presentation in TcVis opening a NX1872 JT as you did with a pre-NX 1872 JT.
