A customer needs to know the Sold To Number, e.g. when contacting the Siemens Support Center.

The user may know that the Sold To ID can be found in the Solid Edge License File in the upper Comment Lines and also in the Feature "server_id" under the variable "VENDOR_STRING"

However, if you do not know where the License can be found or if you are working with a floating License Server and have no access to that machine, how do you get that information ?

Solution

The Sold to could be found in the 'About Solid Edge' window before Solid Edge Solid Edge 2020:

Unfortunately the About Solid Edge Window has been changed since Solid Edge 2020 together with new License Utilities and look now like this:

Fortunately you can see the used License Type ( in the example above - Premium).

With the new License Utilities available with Solid Edge 2020 you can obtain this information in the new License Borrow Tool under the Environment Settings:

In this screenshot above the Sold To ID is not seen, because in this instance the License File is an internal File and therefore the VENDOR_STRING contains no Sold To but in a conventional licence it will be seen.

Furthermore there is other useful information, that is extracted from the system, such as the License Server variable ( -> License Server ) or the Composite ID.

Hopefully this information will be useful in certain situations.
