Details

By default, the load options for a Simcenter 3D model are set to Minimum Load - Lightweight Display. While this is beneficial for performance, some functionality and fidelity is removed by opening models this way. This also is not always clear when opening models from a file explorer window or from the History Navigator.

Solution

You can change the default loading options by going to File->Assembly Load Options as soon as you open Simcenter 3D (with no model open)

 


You can then change your load option under Scope and save the setting to a *.def file using the Save to File button at the bottom of the dialog box.


 

After this, create an environment variable called UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS and set it to point to the *.def file that was just created.


 

Then close and reopen Simcenter and your default load options should be set.
