Why modifying a dimension, scales entire sketch

Solution

A new Auto-Scale Sketch command in the Draw group automatically scales a 2D or 3D sketch. When you place the first distance, radial, diameter, or symmetric diameter driving dimension and change its value, the whole sketch is scaled accordingly. Automatic scaling is applied each time you change the value, until you turn the option off, or until you add a second driving dimension to the sketch.

The Auto-Scale Sketch command is an on or off option that is selected (on) by default for new and legacy files. It is available in all environments.
