Can you use Solid Edge w/SEEC and Teamcenter Active Workspace Client (AWC) without installing the Teamcenter Rich Client?

Solution

The quick answer is yes!
SEEC uses the Teamcenter Client Communication Services (TcCS) protocols. So as long as you setup your server environment with 4-tier and Teamcenter Client Server Services (TcSS) to support client connections (TcCS) then a client who can run Active Workspace (AW) can also use SEEC on the same workstation.
The root of the question is that SEEC needs the Teamcenter File Management System (FMS) layer on the client - which is the FMS File Client cache (FCC) - to facilitate the transfer of files. Setting up TcCS on the client accomplishes the minimum requirement.
We recommend hosted AW. Review the help files for additional information.
