NX The "drill" operation type template is missing in NX 1899

When creating a new CAM operation in NX 1899 the "drill" template is no longer selectable. How can it be added?

Solution

The old drill.prt template part still exists in the NX 1899 installation, but the entries that reference it have been removed from the .opt files. If possible it is recommended to use operations from the newer "hole_making" template instead. But to add the "drill" template do as follows:

1. Make sure you have write access to ...\MACH\resource\template_set\cam_general.opt (if "cam_general" is the configuration you are using).
2. Open the .opt file in a text editor.
3. Add these two rows:
${UGII_CAM_TEMPLATE_PART_ENGLISH_DIR}drill.prt
${UGII_CAM_TEMPLATE_PART_METRIC_DIR}drill.prt

Now the "drill" option should be selectable in NX:
