NX for Manufacturing

Summary

Details

In NX1899 the Mass Edit command was added to allow the tool path settings to be changed in multiple operations at the same time. Previously each Operation would need to be opened one at a time and the setting altered. Now a series of similar operations can be edited in one step. How is this new Mass Edit option used?

Solution

A number of Floor Wall Operations were created to mill flat faces around the outside of a part. Instead of cutting these flats in one pass the programmer would like to edit all the operations to add a step down roughing pass.

1. Go to File -> Utilities -> Feature Toggles.
2. From the Find field search for Mass Edit to locate the option.

3. Press MfgCore_MassEdit -> State(column) -> Off -> MB3 to change this to On.

4. Select all of the operations that need to be changed using the Ctrl or the Shift key and than select MB3 -> Mass Edit.

5. Alter the Depth Per Cut value from 0 to 2.

6. After pressing OK and regenerating the Operations the roughing pass is now visible in all operations.
