Details
The latest versions of NX do not include the
# dbc_logname
delimiter entry in the tool_database.dat file header so that exporting tools to the library will also create site comments/logging of user activity. This was standard in older (~NX8) versions, and it is still included in the latest holder_database.dat, multitool_database.dat, trackpoint_database.dat, and segmented_tool_database.dat files. Only the tool_database.dat file is missing this option.
e.g. the header of multitool_database.dat from NX1899:
# MULTITOOL_DATABASE.DAT
##########################################################################
#
# PURPOSE:
#
# This is the database file used for defining multi-tools
#
#
#
# The next line causes the on site revision history to be saved.
# To prevent this, delete the next line.
# dbc_logname
#
Solution
Manually edit the tool_database.dat file and add this line in the header. It can be manually typed or copied and pasted from one of the other dat files. The two preceding comment lines can be included, but are not necessary.
# The next line causes the on site revision history to be saved.
# To prevent this, delete the next line.
# dbc_logname
Notes and References
The tool_database.dat files in NX12 through NX1899 are all in this condition as of the writing of this document.
