Solid Edge Cannot change bend radius of converted sheet metal part

PART/SHEETMETAL

Summary

Details

The user has a Synchronous part file derived from a Part Copy.  They then do a 'Thin Part to Synchronous Sheet Metal' operation.
The bend radius is 2.6mm.
They then change the gage to 16 – so the bend radius should now be 1.57mm.
However, if they measure the bend on the part - it is still 2.6mm radius.  Why?

Solution

This is working as designed.  When you convert an existing part to a sheet metal one, all the pre-existing bends are identified and tagged as 'overridden'.  This means that any subsequent global bend radius changes will not affect the radius of these overridden bends.

For example, if you create a new flange, then edit the bend and change its radius locally to be different from the global one, then the bend radius for this bend is overridden.  Any changes later to the global end radius will not change this overridden bend's value.
