Solid Edge Target objects are created as New if SEEC_SaveAs_New_ItemType is turned on

When set SEEC_SaveAs_New_ItemType to 1 and perform "SaveAs" on SESE, all target objects are created as New regardless of whether the Item Type has changed.

Solution

This issue is working as designed.


This is similar to Save As new item type in SEEC.


When this preference is enabled, Save As will create an entry on the right side of SESE. This entry will have the same Item Type as the source. The user can expand the list of available Item Types and select a different Item Type. This will invoke the same behavior as the Save As New Item Type in SEEC.
