Solid Edge Possible FlexLM problems after updating the operating system

Details

When updating the operating system from a FlexLM Server it may appear that the clients will not start Solid Edge and the following message comes up:

"Cannot connect to License server system"

However the License Server is up and running.

Solution

The reason for this could be that after the update and restart of the FlexLM License server the Firewall settings have been modified:

To check this, please open in the Control Panel -> Windows Firewall and click on:

Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall:


Then you should see something like this:


Please ensure that the process lmgrd.exe and ugslmd.exe allow the Private access through network here also.  If these options are deactivated, you will get no Access to the FlexLM server and no license will be checked out.
