In Fastener Assembly what is the difference between defining or not defining Auto-matching.

Solution

If you don't define Auto-matching in "Customize Fastener Assembly" dialog, when you are changing the parameter of the bolt, the related washer or nut in your configuration would not be updated according to the parameter of the bolt.

However, if you already defined Auto-matching when creating KRX file of that part, it may also update accordingly. In this case, define Auto-matching in "Customize Fastener Assembly" dialog could be a supplement of the original one. Here is an example:

First, we don't define any Auto-matching in "Customize Fastener Assembly" dialog, and as every part defined Auto-matching for DIAMETER when creating KRX file, so the only DIAMETER has been matched after changing parameter of the bolt. And you can see that clearly from Fig.1, there are two interferences respectively between bolt and washer, nut and washer, and that is incorrect.
Then we defined Auto-matching for Length, and they will be matching correctly (Fig.2).
