When you translate a NX model to STEP AP242 there is a "Tessellated" option, ("Precise" is default), in the Export to STEP menu, Data to Export tab, "Export Solids and Surfaces as"
What is the accuracy for such tessellation?
Solution
The values being used to define the accuracy of the geometry being generated by NX to STEP242 translation with the "Tessellated" option is:
Chordal tolerance - 0.127 mm (0.005 inch)
Angular - 15 degrees
where chordal tolerance is defined as how closely the triangles approximate the surface or solid and angular tolerance the is defined as upper bound of angular deviation between two surfaces normal.
