NX Plunge Milling Slot when the slot width equals the tool diameter

When the tool diameter is the same size as the slot...the plunge milling operation is to cut down the slot center. The tool path cuts down the center and then recuts some of the previously machined slot.

Solution

• Define the "WORKPIECE" with the "BLANK" defined. Do not "Specify the Part" in the "Workpiece".
• Specify the "Part" inside of the Operation.
  • Select the "Floor" and "Side Wall" of the slot as the "Part" (please see image below).
