NX Groove OD - Could not detect cut region!

When the Groove Width and the Tool Width are the same, the OOTB OD Groove operation parameters do not find the groove cut region. An alert is displayed, "Could not detect cut region!"

Solution

The OOTB "Cut Region"  parameters must be changed. (See OOTB parameters image below).

• In the "Auto Detection" group, change "Minimum Area"  to None.
• The second thing is to set "Axial Trim Plane 1" (Please see example in image below).

"Cut Regions" are recognized (please see image below).


With the parameter changes, the system can now find the desired cut region.
