NX NC output to contain GOTO every .150 along a line

Posted output to contain a user defined number of points on a line.

The above NC output displays a GOTO at the start of the line and a GOTO at the end of the line.
The desire is to have a GOTO output every .150".

Solution

• Using the existing line, extrude a sheet body. The operation calls for a .500 diameter end mill. The extrusion is offset .250 from the intended cutting edge. (The line below is 15 inches long.)

• Create a Fixed Contour Operation.
• Do not select Part, Check, or Cut Area.
• In the "Drive Method", select "Surface Area".

• Specify the Drive Geometry by selecting the "Sheet Body".
• Set the "Cut Area" to "Surface %".

• Select the cut direction as indicated in the image below...

• Change the "Surface %" to cut along one side of the surface.

• Please see the image below to set the "Drive Settings".

Note: The "Contact Points" should display as seen below...

• Select "OK" on the "Surface Area Drive Method" dialog box.
• Generate.

Note: The Tool Path outputs the desired amount of "GOTO".
