Summary

Details

Have a model part to start with.

Want to make a slope analysis. Having invoked the Analysis -> Shape -> Slope command, defined a vector and selected Body Faces, a result is presented.

However, the result does not look as expected. A lot of colors displayed in an unstructured manor and it does not match the scale to the right.
What is wrong?

Solution

When you initially opened the part file you had your display to show the model in shaded mode with edges.

When you invoked the Slope analysis command and defined which faces to analyse you NX session automatically switch to display in a Face Analysis mode.

The reason for the odd colorful display is that your NX part file already contained a shape analysis, but due to the display mode you did not see it at first.
If you look in the Part Navigator you find an Analysis node. Expand it all the way down you find two sub-nodes, Draft Analysis and Face Analysis, and each of them have their analysis object

If you hide the Draft Analysis, which were stored in the part file since a previous session, the slope analysis will now become fully visible and the color scheme is now clear and constant.
